Alan J. Veneklasen was first introduced to the construction industry in 1964 while working at Veneklasen Concrete Construction, Inc., a company owned by his father, Jack Veneklasen. He worked summers while he attended Calvin College and upon graduation, set out to try something different. He spent a year working for an insurance company and then a real estate developer, but he couldn’t quite get construction out of his system. He went back to work in the family business. He stayed until 1976, when he went out on his own to found his own construction company, a.j.Veneklasen, Inc.

Alan Veneklasen, known to many as A.J., began his company with the idea to provide a quality product at a fair price and let his reputation speak for him. He has been following that credo for nearly forty years.
